1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Kanji Master ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any modifications.

2. Description of Service

Kanji Master is an interactive Japanese reading quiz application designed to help users learn and practice Japanese kanji readings. The Service includes:

  • 11 progressive levels of Japanese reading quizzes (Level 0-10)
  • Free access to Levels 0-1
  • Premium subscription access to Levels 2-10
  • Progress tracking and performance statistics
  • Audio pronunciation features (Premium)

3. Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account using Google authentication. By creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Free and Premium Plans

4.1 Free Plan

The Free Plan provides access to:

  • Level 0 (Hiragana Basics)
  • Level 1 (Basic Kanji)
  • Basic progress tracking
  • Explanations and learning tips

4.2 Premium Plan

The Premium Plan is a paid subscription that provides access to:

  • All 11 levels (Level 0-10)
  • Advanced progress analytics
  • Audio pronunciation features
  • Detailed performance statistics
  • Ranking features

5. Payment and Billing

Premium subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis according to your selected plan. By subscribing to Premium, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe
  • Prices are displayed in your local currency where available
  • Subscription fees are charged at the beginning of each billing period
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice

6. Cancellation and Refunds

Important Cancellation Policy:

  • You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time from your account settings
  • Upon cancellation, you will retain Premium access until the end of your current billing period
  • No prorated refunds are provided for partial billing periods
  • After the billing period ends, your account will revert to the Free Plan
  • Your learning progress and data will be preserved

7. User Conduct

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Use automated systems or bots to access the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Manipulate quiz results or rankings fraudulently
  • Interfere with other users' enjoyment of the Service

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Service, including but not limited to quiz questions, explanations, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Kanji Master or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content without our express written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY SPECIFIC LEARNING OUTCOMES OR RESULTS FROM USING THE SERVICE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KANJI MASTER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on this page with the effective date. By continuing to use the Service after changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
